Fading Memories - Bronze

Equus
Horse and rider rise together in a powerful moment of controlled energy. The horse’s lifted foreleg, arched neck and sweeping tail create a dynamic rhythm, while the rider’s composed posture provides a quiet counterbalance. Expressively modelled surfaces catch the light and intensify the sense of movement. The sculpture explores the instinctive bond between human and animal—a union of strength, trust and shared purpose.

Untitled Moment
Seated with her body folded inward, the female figure holds one leg close as her gaze settles into quiet reflection. The rounded composition and gently interlocking limbs create a sense of enclosure, intimacy and stillness. Subtle surface textures preserve the immediacy of the modelling, while the pale finish softens the figure’s physical presence. The work captures an unguarded moment suspended between contemplation, vulnerability and rest.

Tree
Balanced on one leg, the female figure rises with calm assurance, her arms extending upward like branches reaching towards the light. The yoga pose combines stillness with quiet strength, while the vertical composition conveys growth, balance and inner stability. Expressively modelled surfaces soften the formal symmetry, celebrating the living body as both grounded and continually reaching beyond itself.

Theta
Theta was my constant studio companion, quietly present beside me while I worked. This sculpture captures her familiar resting pose - body stretched across the floor, head lowered and completely at ease. More than a study of an animal, the work is an affectionate portrait of companionship, trust and shared silence. It reflects the unobtrusive yet comforting presence of a devoted companion who became part of the rhythm and solitude of the creative process.

Squat
Poised at the edge of a precipice, the crouching figure withdraws into a compact, protective form. The bowed head and extended arms suggest contemplation, uncertainty and a gathering of inner strength. Tension runs through the compressed body, creating a powerful contrast between stillness and the possibility of sudden movement. The sculpture reflects a deeply human moment of vulnerability before decision and action.

Poise
Perched at the edge, the seated figure gathers her knees close while her feet extend freely into space. The compact pose conveys both physical balance and emotional composure, suggesting a private moment of reflection. Long limbs and gently interlocking forms create a quiet rhythm, while the expressive surface preserves the immediacy of the modelling. Poise explores stillness as a form of strength.

Ostrich Dance - Medium
Caught in a moment of wild abandon, the female figure balances on one leg as her limbs sweep outward in a lively, birdlike rhythm. The lifted knee, twisting torso and angular arms convey spontaneity rather than formal control. Expressively modelled and full of restless energy, the sculpture celebrates uninhibited movement—the instant when self-consciousness disappears and the body surrenders completely to the dance.

Male Torso - Medium

Lightness of Being
Inspired by Milan Kundera’s The Unbearable Lightness of Being, a life-size male figure appears to float above the steel silhouette of a baby. Slender rods connect the two forms, creating a tension between weightlessness and attachment, adulthood and origin. The work reflects on identity, memory and inherited experience - suggesting that however freely we move through life, invisible bonds continue to connect us to our beginnings.

Koki
Influenced by the figure of Koki in Afrikaans literature Raka, this crouching male embodies watchfulness, instinct and latent force. His lowered stance and outstretched arms suggest a creature poised between defence and attack, while the alert expression intensifies the sense of approaching danger. Expressively modelled, the figure explores the uneasy boundary between civilisation and primal impulse, intellect and untamed physical power.

Introspection
With her arms folded above her head and her gaze turned inward, the female figure appears absorbed in private thought. The gently crossed legs and enclosed upper body create a flowing yet protective silhouette, balancing openness with emotional retreat. Expressively modelled, the sculpture captures the quiet tension of self-examination - a pause in which the external world recedes and attention turns towards memory, uncertainty and the inner self.

Handstand - Medium
Suspended in a precise vertical balance, the inverted figure transforms physical effort into apparent weightlessness. Extended legs and firmly planted hands create a strong upward rhythm, while the expressive modelling preserves the tension of muscles held under control. The work celebrates discipline, concentration and the body’s remarkable ability to overcome gravity, turning a fleeting athletic gesture into an enduring image of human resolve.

Gran Cavallo
Created as a private study, this work pays homage to Leonardo da Vinci’s ambitious design for the Sforza Horse - an equestrian monument conceived in the fifteenth century but never completed during his lifetime. The sculpture reflects on the horse’s monumental presence, combining muscular strength with restraint and dignity. Rather than attempting a replica, it offers a personal interpretation of Leonardo’s enduring fascination with equine anatomy, movement and nobility.

Equus Somni
Horse and rider emerge as a dreamlike union of movement, memory and imagination. The rearing horse carries the composed figure upward, creating a tension between instinctive energy and quiet control. Incised lines, symbols and decorative markings travel across both bodies, visually binding them together. Expressively modelled and richly textured, the sculpture evokes an inner journey in which human and animal share a single rhythm.

Dancer

Companion
A reclining woman rests beside her dog, their bodies closely aligned in an intimate composition of shared ease. The animal leans into her side while her relaxed posture conveys complete trust and contentment. Their elongated forms flow together, gently dissolving the boundary between human and animal. Companion celebrates the quiet loyalty, comfort and wordless understanding.
