This 1.45-metre memorial figure of golfer Paul du Toit Sr was commissioned by the private business ALZU in 2022. The sporting subject gives the sculpture a clear connection to the sitter’s life and achievement, while the larger-than-life scale makes it suitable for a commemorative setting. It is an example of Prinsloo’s ability to translate a personal memory into a public-facing figurative monument.
