Chief Langalibalele Cape of Good Hope
Langalibalele statue at the Castle of Good Hope, unveiled in December 2016 together with statues of Cetshwayo, Sekhukhune and Doman.

This life-size bronze figure of Chief Langalibalele was commissioned for the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town in 2017. The work reinterprets a historical figure already represented in the Long Walk to Freedom project. The sculpture was designed to convey forward movement, reflecting the leader's history of being constantly on the move with his people, while the Castle setting places it in direct dialogue with South Africa's colonial and political past.
