This life-size bronze figure of Chief Langalibalele was created in 2013 for the National Heritage Foundation’s Long March to Freedom project. The commission commemorates a historic leader whose story forms part of South Africa’s complex history of resistance and displacement. Prinsloo’s approach combines portrait likeness with a full-figure monument designed for public historical memory.
