Poise is a half-life-size female figure in bronze, cast in an edition of seven. The work reflects André Prinsloo's focus on the expressive language of the human body, with its balance, posture and quiet composure forming the heart of the piece. As a smaller-scale edition, Poise demonstrates the artist's ability to translate his life-size figurative concerns into a more intimate and collectible format while retaining the mass, surface and presence of his larger work.
