This life-size half-figure memorial bust of Kadji Defosso was commissioned for installation in Cameroon in 2021. André Prinsloo’s published images show the work as a formal commemorative portrait, designed to preserve the sitter’s likeness in a durable sculptural form. The half-figure format gives the memorial more physical presence than a conventional head-and-shoulders bust while retaining the intimacy of portraiture.
